Vellum runs as a file on the venue computer. Names, meals, wheelchairs, allergens — none of it is sent to a server in California, or anywhere else. There is no account. That is the point. UK GDPR is simpler when the guest list is not in a US cloud product.
Each guest can carry the UK 14 allergens — celery through sulphites — plus a free-text note. Print a kitchen sheet grouped by table, one grouped by allergen, or both together. Supplier covers (photographer, band, registrar, videographer) are counted apart from the guest headcount, because the chef asked. Save as PDF from the print dialog — nothing is sent away.
Classic English wedding: some people are there for the service and the breakfast; some arrive for dancing. Mark them. Daytime print hides the evening-only names. Evening print brings them back. One event, two rooms in time.
Ceremony, dining, and a marquee backup if June misbehaves — three layouts on the same event, guests shared, tables per room. One click to switch. Save a room as a template and apply it next week. Dance floor, bar, cake, DJ, gift table and entrance sit on the canvas as objects, not as a guest table pretending.
Wheelchair space, assistance dog, near the toilets, away from the speakers, a quiet table, a large-print place card. If a wheelchair seat is pushed to a blocked edge, Vellum warns. It does not lecture. It flags.
Keep families together; keep certain names apart. Auto-seat and auto-balance will try, greedily, and then get out of the way. Swap two people by dropping one name on the other. Speech order for the top table. Undo, and redo.
An A3 landscape chart (A4 if you prefer), place cards, escort list, table-name cards. Banquet, cabaret and long tables join the rounds. Ivory, sage, blush or navy ink. A high-contrast toggle when the printer is tired. Keyboard for coordinators who cannot, or will not, drag with a mouse: arrows to seat, Alt-arrows to move a table.
Not a booking diary. Not RSVP. Not venue management. Not a design service. Couples buying one wedding should use Seatfold, fifteen pounds, personal use. The public demo is twelve guests and two events, so you can feel the file before you licence it.
